Aawas — meaning “where the soul resides”
Aawas is more than just a design studio; it’s a philosophy.
At Aawas Design Studio, we believe that every space has a soul — a unique energy that reflects the people who inhabit it. Our mission is to bring that soul to life through thoughtful design, material harmony, and spatial storytelling.
The essence of our logo captures this belief beautifully: the inner form represents the soul — the heart and emotion within every design, while the outer boundary symbolizes the walls and structure that hold and protect it. Together, they embody our approach — design that balances emotion with structure, creativity with function.
We are a multidisciplinary interior design studio working across a range of sectors —
Residential Spaces: crafting warm, personal environments that feel like home.
Commercial Spaces: designing functional yet inspiring workplaces that enhance productivity and brand identity.
Hospitality Projects: creating immersive experiences that leave a lasting impression.
Event Design & Planning: blending spatial design with storytelling to transform occasions into memorable experiences.
Every project we take on begins with a story — your story.
We listen, understand, and then translate that narrative into a tangible, beautiful space. Our designs are not about trends, but about timelessness, balance, and a deep sense of belonging.
Because at Aawas, we don’t just design spaces — we design the place where the soul resides.
Ananya Salhotra is the visionary founder and chief designer of Aawas Design Studio. Ananya has spent many years crafting spaces that are both beautiful and deeply personal. Her work is characterized by a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics, reflecting her belief that design should be timeless, functional, and emotionally resonant.
"Hi, I'm Ananya Salhotra. My love for design began at home, flipping through my mother’s magazines and discovering how a simple change in texture or material could transform a room. That early curiosity led me from Jaipur, where I fell in love with heritage and craftsmanship, to Delhi, where I embraced the energy of modern urban life."
"Now back in my hometown of Jammu, I’ve founded AAWAS Design Studio. My work is about bridging the gap between the ancient and the modern—creating spaces that are climate-conscious, culturally rooted, and deeply personal to the people who inhabit them."
